Jessica Watkins is a stand-up comedian, actress and producer born and raised in East Nashville, Tennessee. Jessica graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts Los Angeles in 2005, and has been living and performing standup in New York City for over a decade. She starred and co-produced the feature film Bad Batch, wrote and hosted the web-series Let’s Take a Walk With Jessica Watkins and Tiki, was featured at 2019 Bonnaroo Music Festival, Accidental Comedy Festival, Chicago’s Women’s Funny Festival, helped break the 2015 Guinness World Record for longest running continuous standup show (80 hours), and toured for three weeks in Central America performing standup with Comedy Abroad raising money for local education.

Jessica Watkins: SPECIALish is her debut film and comedy special of which she self produced, shot, wrote, directed, and stars in. She worked on the film for seven years from inception to distribution, funding the project through two successful crowdfunding campaigns and the backing of Jesse Lyda with GlassHouse Productions.

Combining Jessica’s love of standup comedy, adventure, and making her family worry about her, Watkins spent over 8 months on a solo walking comedy tour spanning from Lewes, Delaware to Oceanside, California. She performed standup in a dozen states along the way, pushing a running stroller full of gear, and living off the kindness of strangers. Jessica chronicled her experience by filming over 300 hours of footage, recording a comedy special upon return to tell her story, and combining the two creating the award winning feature length comedic documentary.

Jessica Watkins: SPECIALish is named β€œexceptional” by the New York Times, β€œ6th best Comedy Special of 2021” by Paste Magazine, has been featured by such outlets as Entertainment Weekly, Sirius XM, and Talk of The Town Nashville.

SPECIALish was released through Random Media and 1091 Pictures May 11th, 2021 and is available NOW on streaming and On Demand platforms.
